Hey there — I'm Darcy, the creator of SafelySpend.

First and foremost, I made SafelySpend because it was the app I had been looking for ever since I started my own retirement planning journey a decade ago, but couldn't find because it didn't exist.

What I found instead were a barrage of free online calculators that each did maybe one or two things I needed, but none of them did everything, and they were all fairly awkward to use.

On the other end of the spectrum were the complicated and expensive financial planning programs that asked you a hundred questions and presented an array of confusing dashboards, while charging a monthly subscription fee that made the app vanish the moment you stopped paying.

What I wanted was an easy to use way to figure out how much I could safely spend each year in retirement, accounting for taxes and inflation, and factoring in other income sources like government benefits or the sale of a home, to ensure I wouldn't deplete my savings before my time came.

So after years of searching and coming up empty handed, I decided to apply my decade of mobile app industry leadership experience toward developing an app of my own.

What I love about SafelySpend is on top of being easy to use, it's also incredibly affordable. I made SafelySpend for regular every day people, so more of us could find the peace of mind we deserve when it comes to planning and enjoying our retirement.
